Truth About Hypnosis
In a clinical hypnosis/hypnotherapy session, the client is always in control.
When you are hypnotized, you experience an altered state of consciousness. You are awake, but you are not paying attention to the conscious world in the same way you would normally.
Instead, your thoughts focus inwards and you go into a mild trance.
Trance is a natural state! Similar to most people, you have likely already experienced trance. Recall a time when you were doing something routine and your mind wandered (day dreaming out a window) or when you were so engaged in something, time just seemed to pass so quickly (reading a book, watching a movie).
By bringing you to a deeper cognitive level and by accessing your inner resources, you can then change old behaviours and habits into new constructive ones.
